First responders were called to the scene after 3:30 p.m. on Presland Road. Paramedics told CBC the child was under the age of 10 and was struck by a dump truck. Life saving measures were performed on scene by responding officers but the child later died in hospital, according to the Ottawa Police Service. No other injuries were reported. Police are now seeking witnesses, and are asking anyone with dashcam or surveillance footage of this incident to come forward.
