Dominic Laflamme said he couldn’t say where the two were from or what their relationship was, except that they were known to each other. They were found near a vehicle that had appeared to have become stuck in the trail.“The trail was very rugged, but there were some spots that because of the rain were softer,” Laflamme said.He said what happened after the vehicle became stuck is harder to understand, and they’re hoping some answers will come from autopsies that are scheduled.Laflamme said police believe that the man and woman were stuck in the woods between one and three days. Police had not received any missing person reports.“We’re still trying to to track their timeline, and we’re hoping digital forensic services can get some data from the vehicle,” he said.Police are also hoping the investigation can help determine whether the couple had taken a wrong turn and become lost while driving, or if the trail had been their destination.“It’s very difficult to say why they were there at this time,” Laflamme said.Police remained on the scene and had the trail and road closed until Saturday morning.Article content
