Edmonton police held a news conference Thursday in an area where they believe the remains of Samuel Bird are located. The 14-year-old has been missing from Edmonton since June 1. The news conference was held in Carrot Creek, Alta., about 160 kilometres west of the city, along the Trans Canada Hwy. Police said that information from the public and other sources led them to this area. “Just our information and analysis, with recent information brought us here. As I said, it was compelling,” said Det. Jared Buhler. “It was compelling enough to immediately send our K9 to this location from the other location.” I know that we are committed to working together to bring this home. Whether it’s today, tomorrow, this week or next spring. This is not going away. “We will investigate this to the end. I assure you of that. The people responsible for this will be held accountable.” The map provided by Edmonton police on where investigators believe the suspect or suspects put Bird’s body. His family said he would always be on Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram messaging and talking with his friends and family daily. However, on the day he went missing, his activity online suddenly stopped. Continue Reading
