(Submitted by Manitoba RCMP)Community members and police are concerned for a missing Wasagamack woman who hasn’t been seen in the First Nation community for more than two weeks. Roxanne Little, 31, was last seen on Aug. 22 at a relative’s home in Wasagamack, Island Lake RCMP said in a news release. A relative told CBC News that she is likely still in the remote, fly-in community, located 470 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg, and loved ones are fearing for the worst. The relative, who Little had been staying with, said the 31-year-old posts on Facebook every day. Her posts stopped on Aug. 24. RCMP initially reported on Saturday that Little may have gone as far as Winnipeg, but a family member said police searched flight logs at the local airport — the only way out —and there was no record of her leaving. Police also searched every hospital in Winnipeg, where there was no sign of Little, the relative said. No one has seen her in the neighbouring Island Lake communities of Garden Hill First Nation, St. Theresa Point First Nation and Red Sucker Lake First Nation, he said. The relative believes she is still in Wasagamack and fears for her safety. Police describe Little as five feet two inches tall, with a slim build and long black hair. RCMP said there is no clothing description available. Anyone with information about Little’s whereabouts is encouraged to call Island Lake RCMP at 204-456-2290.
