(Foo Fighters/Facebook)The Foo Fighters will rock Mosaic Stadium in Regina on Sept. 15, 2026.Known for many hits with hard-hitting riffs and powerful rhythm sections, the world-famous band is stopping in Regina as a part of its 2026 stadium tour.”It’s going to be absolutely incredible. It’s going to be over the top. It will be loud. It will be 41,000 people visiting Mosaic Stadium,” Rick Bennett, CEO of Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL), said at the concert announcement Friday morning. Bennett hyped the fact Regina is one of just four Canadian cities to make it onto the Foo Fighters’ tour, along with Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver.Tickets, which range from $60 to $300 before taxes and service charges, go on sale for all shows Friday, Oct. 31, at 10 a.m. local time.It’s the first concert Mosaic Stadium will be hosting since 2019.The Foo Fighters have 15 Grammy Awards, five of which are for best rock album, and in 2021, the band became the first recipients of the global icon award at the MTV Video Music Awards. That same year, they became eligible and were immediately inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.This won’t be the first time Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has played in Regina, as back in May 1989, Washington, D.C., hardcore punk band Scream came to town with Grohl on the drums. Just a year later, he would be drumming for one of the biggest bands in the world: Nirvana.After Nirvana broke up following the death of Kurt Cobain, Dave Grohl created the Foo Fighters in Seattle in 1994 to keep making music solo.The Foo Fighters were scheduled to perform in September 2022 at Regina’s Brandt Centre, but that tour was cancelled due to the death of 50-year-old drummer Taylor Hawkins.The Foo Fighters have confirmed their first stadium tour since their 2023-24 run. (Matt Howard/CBC)Now, the crew coming to Regina is Dave Grohl, Pat Smear, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Rami Jaffee and Ilan Rubin. Seattle-born Queens of the Stone Age are scheduled as the opening act.Bennett said REAL is actively pursuing more live entertainment, while working around the Saskatchewan Roughriders and other scheduling limitations.”It’s a unique balance,” Bennett said. “A major act would consume probably a week to two weeks worth of facility usage space. Overall goal? Fewer dark days at REAL.”
