Former Kahnawà:keCannabis Control Board member resigns, citing political interference

By Savanna Craig This comes as Kahnawà:ke council looks into possibly opening regulated cannabis stores. Unlike other Mohawk communities in Quebec, Kahnawà:ke doesn’t have any regulated cannabis stores. But that may soon change. Some community members are against opening pot stores. In April, more than 100 people protested outside the band council office to express their feelings. Tensions around the issue have been growing, resulting in no one currently sitting on the community’s cannabis board.
