Article contentArticle content The Cultural Cup started in 2019 when golfers from both Truro and Dartmouth sat down and discussed the possibility of competing in a one day, two-ball match play event. Since Apex brings these golfers together on an annual basis, there has been a lot of time spent socializing, playing cards, and having a beer or two over a few days. Friendships have certainly developed. Article contentArticle content The first Cultural Cup between the two clubs was held in Truro with the host team winning. Truro travelled to the Grandview Golf Course in Dartmouth in 2020 and played to a tie, to retain the cup. A few years went by, and, due to circumstances, the event was not held. It returned to Truro in 2024, and Grandview came out on top to earn the trophy. Article content Truro travelled to the Dartmouth Grandview Golf Course on Sept. 21 and came up short again, as Grandview retained the cup. All golfers enjoyed the matches, and the positive social impact the fun day of competition brings to both golf clubs. Article content Truro will host next year’s competition.
