Greenwood, New Minas Giant Tiger stores donating AEDs to three rural halls

The staff of Giant Tiger’s Greenwood location is happy to give back to the community at large. An AED is being donated to the Fundy Community & Recreation Club in Young’s Cove this summer, and another one to the Lower Granville Community Hall in Annapolis Royal. His customer base spans from Berwick to Digby, representing a wide swath of rural and urban communities.Article content“This is kind of special because it gives that life-saving equipment to a smaller community who’s just as important,” Durling said.Article content“It’s going to make a huge difference.”Article contentThe news release notes that when CPR is combined with AED use within three to five minutes, survival rates can double or triple.Article contentEmma Lindblad, Giant Tiger’s external communications co-ordinator, said the devices will be delivered in two to three months.Article content“Two members from the community organization will also receive CPR and AED training through the Canadian Red Cross to ensure help is close by when needed,” Lindblad said.Article contentArticle contentDid you know?Article contentThere are 14 Giant Tiger locations in Nova Scotia.
