Hall to honour Kingston, Greenwood’s rich sporting history

A nominee who does not get inducted is automatically reviewed for the following four years.Article content“We already have a number of names beyond the group that will be (inducted) this year,” Glavine said, noting the broad range of sports the Hall will reflect. “I like the variety that a Sports Hall of Fame can bring forward.”There are also strong military teams and athletes who excelled in the mix for consideration as part of future classes.While a permanent location for where the Hall’s plaques will be displayed has not been selected, Glavine said there are a few spots being considered until a long-term solution has been determined.Glavine, who has a long history as an athlete and coach, sees the many benefits sports instill.“I’ve always saw it as part of community building.”He said recognizing those who have excelled is important. Hyslop said promoting the area’s rich sporting history can help inspire future generations.
