(Ryan Snoddon/CBC)The dangerous heat wave that’s underway across eastern North America will move into the Maritimes on Tuesday. While Ontario and Quebec will bake under very hot and humid conditions for at least three days, the Maritimes will only feel the worst of heat on Tuesday. We’ll see lots of sunshine with temperatures rising into the low to mid 30s with humidex values climbing into the high 30s and low 40s.Dew point values will rise into the oppressive range on Tuesday in the region (Ryan Snoddon/CBC)In this extreme heat, be sure to take precautions by drinking lots of water and watch for signs of heat exhaustion. The worst of the heat will be short-lived thanks to a cold front which will roll into the region on Tuesday afternoon and evening, bringing showers and a risk of thunderstorms.Temperatures will rise into the high 20s and low 30s on Tuesday with humidex values near 40 for some. (Ryan Snoddon/CBC)The cold front will also shift the winds to northwest which will usher some much drier air into the region throughout Wednesday.  However, folks who don’t have air conditioning in their home should prepare for uncomfortable sleeping conditions thanks to the mugginess expected Tuesday night. While Wednesday will still see temperatures climbing into the mid to high-20s for many, the humidity will be much improved by Wednesday evening. The humidity will drop throughout Tuesday night and Wednesday with much drier air in place to end the week. (Ryan Snoddon/CBC)As of now, temperatures look set to slide even cooler toward the end of the week and into the weekend, before bumping back again for Canada Day.
