OttawaThousands of people will be sweating their way through Ottawa’s streets on Sunday for the 18th annual Canada Army Run. (Fred Chartrand/The Canadian Press)Thousands of people will be sweating their way through Ottawa’s streets on Sunday for the 18th annual Canada Army Run.This year’s races all start Sunday morning at Ottawa City Hall, with the finish line near the National War Memorial.In order to make that happen, numerous roads will be closed in central Ottawa. Most will reopen by early afternoon.Here’s a full rundown of the disruptions.From 6 a.m. until 2 p.m.: Laurier Avenue West between Nicholas and Metcalfe streets. Elgin Street northbound between Lisgar and Queen streets. Mackenzie Avenue between Sussex Drive and Rideau Street. Rideau Street between Elgin and Dalhousie streets. From 6 a.m to 3 p.m: Elgin Street northbound between Queen and Wellington streets. Queen Elizabeth Drive between Lawrence Frieman Lane and Somerset Street West. From 7 a.m to 11 a.m: Laurier Avenue West between Metcalfe and O’Connor streets. O’Connor Street between Wellington Street and Laurier Avenue W. Queen Street between O’Connor and Wellington streets. Wellington Street between Elgin Street and the Portage Bridge. Lyon Street N. between Wellington Street and Laurier Avenue W. From 7 a.m to 2 p.m: Sussex Drive between Rideau Street and Princess Avenue. Princess Avenue between Sussex Drive and Lisgar Road. Lisgar Road between Mariposa Avenue and Rideau Terrace/Dufferin Road. Dufferin Road’s southbound lane between Rideau Terrace and MacKay Street. MacKay Street’s eastbound lane between Dufferin Road and Sussex Drive. The Alexandra Bridge. From 8 a.m to 2 p.m: Rideau Terrace’s westbound lane between Dufferin Road and Acacia Avenue. Corona Avenue between Acacia and Beechwood avenues. Beechwood Avenue between Joliette Avenue and Hemlock Road. Hemlock Road between Beechwood Avenue and Birch Avenue. Birch Avenue’s southbound lane between Hemlock Road and the Sir George Etienne Cartier Parkway. The Sir George Etienne Cartier Parkway between Aviation Parkway and Sussex Drive. Parking restrictions will be in effect along the entire route, the city says. Anyone parked in a temporary no-stopping zone will have their vehicle removed.O-Train service will start early Sunday to get participants to the starting line, with trains running on Line 1 and Line 2 from 6 a.m. onwards.Buses that run along the race route will be detoured, the city says.
