She called the conditions “perfect” for her.Article contentArticle content“I thought it was going to be too cold, but I don’t like (the heat), so (they were) ideal.”Article contentHiggins was planning on running the half marathon in Toronto on Oct. 19, but when it sold-out, she decided to stay close to home and run a course she is very familiar with. Higgins was hoping to break 1:20 but came up a few seconds short.Article content“I just didn’t have the kick, but (it’s) still 1.5 minutes faster than last year,” she noted.Article contentShe was the third person to complete the half marathon course this year.Article contentHer running season began by checking off a bucket list item by completing the Boston Marathon in a person-best time.
