Highway 417 lanes, ramps to close this weekend for construction

(Brian Morris/CBC)Several lanes and ramps on Highway 417 will be closed this weekend as construction continues to replace the Preston, Rochester and Booth Sreet bridges.The closures begin Friday night and are expected to continue until approximately 5 a.m. on Monday.The left lane of Highway 417 eastbound from the O-Train to Bronson Avenue will be closed the entire weekend. The centre lane in that stretch will be also closed nightly. The right lane of Highway 417 westbound will be closed from O’Connor to Bronson.The eastbound Parkdale on-ramp, eastbound Rochester off-ramp, and westbound Bronson off-ramps will also be closed.In a press release from Kiewit Dufferin Midtown Partnership, the company contracted to replace the bridges and noise barriers along the highway, the company said the closures will allow the transport of concrete slabs, as well as excavation, asphalt paving, line painting and drainage improvements.
