Liberal Party’s leadership early Saturday evening.Mitchell won with 2,372 votes (82.3 per cent) to Todd Cormier’s 509 votes (17.6 per cent).In total, 2,882 ballots were cast — a 90.3 per cent turnout, according to the party. There was one spoiled ballot.Voting took place online. Results were released shortly before 5:30 p.m.”I’m ready to go. I’m ready to start tomorrow,” Mitchell told CBC News moments after his victory. He said next up is visiting all 27 districts across P.E.I. again to identify Liberal candidates for the next provincial election. The date for that is fall 2027, but could be called much sooner.
