He was a Tely 10 winner in his first attempt with a time of 50:28. Article content“I was super stoked,” said Moulton. “Just my first time running the race, and for years now … I’ve been dreaming of running this race and winning in front of my family and friends.” Article contentGriffin Gamble finished behind him with a time of 50:52, while William Pidduck finished third in a time of 51:13. Article contentArticle contentArticle contentA surprise timeArticle contentLeading into the race, Moulton would tell his family and friends that he’d be happy if he finished the course in around 52 minutes. Article contentHe never thought he’d be close to breaking the 50-minute mark. So, when he turned the corner and hit the home stretch, Moulton was surprised by what he found. Article content“I couldn’t even believe it when I was coming down the street,” he said. “I didn’t look at my watch very much throughout the race, so it’s shocking when I started coming down.” Article contentInjury freeArticle contentIn previous years, Moulton has had some nagging injuries that have hampered some of his competitions. Article contentDuring his career, his Achilles has long given him trouble, but that changed this year. Article contentHe entered the Tely 10 injury free. Moulton figures it’s been three or fours years since that’s happened. Article content“Coming into the race yesterday, just hopping around my house, not feeling a tug, I was really excited to race today,” he said. “I woke up this morning, looked outside, it was a gorgeous day. No clouds, wind all on your back.  Article content“I couldn’t have been a better day for running.” Article content‘He’s going to do amazing things’Article contentJust a few minutes after Moulton crossed the line as the men’s winner, Kate Bazeley strode over the line as the women’s winner. Article contentThe pair shared a moment after Bazeley crossed the line and she had some great things to say about her fellow winner. Article content“He’s the absolute best. This was his first Tely 10 and he’s a phenomenal runner, and I was not surprised he won at all,” she said. “He’s going to do amazing things.” Article content
