Published 8:30 am Friday, November 28, 2025 A stabbing in Kimmirut on Nov. 20 left a male victim with lacerations, and he was medevaced to Iqaluit for treatment, Nunavut RCMP stated on Nov. 28. The victim is in stable condition. The incident happened in the 90s block of the community. Saimo Michael, 30, has been charged with aggravated assault and two counts of assaulting a peace officer in relation to the incident, according to the police. Responding officers were flagged down by a bystander who told police what happened, RCMP Sgt. George Henrie said. Michael is in custody and his next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 1.
