The matter was adjourned to June 3 to allow time for a pre-sentence report to be prepared and for sentencing.Judge Angela Caseley sentenced Walker to 30 days of intermittent custody, to be served from Fridays at 6 p.m. to Mondays at 6 a.m. beginning June 6 and continuing every weekend until the sentence is served. Walker was also sentenced to 12 months of probation, and the court imposed a three-year driving prohibition against him.Walker committed the offence in Berwick on Dec. 30, 2024. The legal blood alcohol limit is 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. Walker gave blood alcohol readings of 190 and 200.A charge of operating a conveyance while his ability to do so was impaired to any degree by alcohol or a drug or both was withdrawn on June 3.Fine, probation for impaired drivingHudson Schellenberg, 22, of New Minas, has been fined and sentenced to probation for having a blood alcohol concentration that was equal to or exceeded the legal limit within two hours of ceasing to operate a conveyance.Article contentSchellenberg pleaded guilty to the charge on June 3. Judge Angela Caseley fined Schellenberg $2,500, sentenced him to 12 months of probation, and imposed a one-year driving prohibition against him.Schellenberg committed the offence in New Minas on Jan. 25. Schellenberg gave blood alcohol readings of 210 and 240.A charge of operating a conveyance while impaired by alcohol was withdrawn on June 3.Fined for impaired drivingStefanie de Koos, 50, of Auburn, has been fined for having a blood alcohol concentration that was equal to or exceeded the legal limit within two hours of ceasing to operate a conveyance.De Koos pleaded guilty to the charge on June 3. Judge Angela Caseley fined de Koos $1,000 and imposed a one-year driving prohibition against her.De Koos committed the offence in Kingston on Oct. 2, 2024. The legal blood alcohol limit is 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. De Koos gave blood alcohol readings of 300 and 280.Article contentA charge of operating a conveyance while her ability to do so was impaired to any degree by alcohol or a drug or both was withdrawn on June 3.Time deemed servedPeter Douglas Swinamer, 59, of Kingston, has been sentenced to time deemed served for failing to comply with a condition of a release order, to reside at a specific address in Kingston.Swinamer pleaded guilty to the charge on June 3. Judge Angela Caseley sentenced Swinamer to 15 days in custody. Swinamer was given credit at time-and-a-half for 41 days spent remanded in custody, or 62 days, so the sentence was deemed served.Swinamer committed the offence in Hants Border on April 24. Two more counts of failing to comply with a condition of a release order were withdrawn on June 3.Article content
