(Submitted by Tracy Colborne Jackman)The Lake George wildfire, burning since the end of September, is now considered under control.In a social media post Saturday, Nova Scotia’s Department of Natural Resources said it doesn’t anticipate the fire will grow beyond its current estimated size of 288 hectares.The department says it expects the fire to be out before winter arrives, but will use infrared scanning to detect hot spots until then. According to the province, the Annapolis Valley fire, which broke out on Sept. 28, led to the evacuation of 355 civic addresses.Evacuees were allowed to return home on Thursday after Natural Resources confirmed the fire had been held.
