RCMP found a man injured in a parking lot on Thompson’s Mystery Drive on May 10, 2024. Police previously said the victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The man, who was from Thompson, died on May 18, 2024, police said in a news release on Tuesday. Mounties initially charged a 50-year-old man with aggravated assault in connection to the incident, but the charges were later stayed and he was released from custody after investigation determined he was not involved in the assault, the release said.RCMP continued to investigate the death and identified a 26-year-old man as a suspect in the homicide. Officers forwarded an investigative package to Manitoba prosecutors, who authorized the charge of manslaughter last month in connection with the death, police said. On Nov. 30, police arrested Jonah Yetman, 26, of Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation. Yetman was remanded into custody, police said.
