(Submitted by Manitoba RCMP)A 52-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting in western Manitoba that left one woman dead and a man in serious condition, late last month.Frank La Forge has been charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder in connection with the shooting on July 28 in his home community of Keeseekoowenin First Nation, Man., according to an RCMP news release on Tuesday.At about 2:45 a.m. that day, RCMP responded to reports of a shooting at a home in Keeseekoowenin, about 240 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.They found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency crews and Mounties provided care at the scene but the woman died of her injuries.The 26-year-old man was transported by STARS air ambulance to hospital in serious condition. He has since been released, RCMP said.At the time, they said the incident was targeted, and within about a week they notified the public that La Forge was a suspect.He turned himself in to RCMP in Winnipeg on Monday, according to the news release.
