(Prabhjot Singh Lotey/CBC)A man has been arrested and is facing several charges after a road rage incident at a Winnipeg intersection led to a physical altercation, police say.A 27-year-old man got into an argument with a 35-year-old man at the intersection of Broadway and Donald Street just after 2 p.m. Saturday, according to a police news release.Both men got out of their vehicles and the dispute escalated. The 27-year-old punched the 35-year-old multiple times, causing him to fall down, the release states.The 27-year-old then took out a set of brass knuckles from his vehicle and continued to beat the other man. He then damaged the man’s vehicle with the brass knuckles.The 27-year-old left the scene but was pulled over by officers around 2:20 p.m., just a few blocks away at the corner of Fort Street and York Avenue.He was arrested and a search of his vehicle turned up a 12-inch hunting knife and sheath, brass knuckles, 16 grams of crack cocaine, cell phones and about $1,100 in cash, the police release said. The 35-year-old sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention. The drivers didn’t know one another, police said.The 27-year-old faces several charges, including assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon, and possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking. He was also charged with traffic violations for not having a valid driver’s license, prompting police to seize his vehicle.More news from CBC Manitoba:
