Nova ScotiaPolice say the ceiling and toilet were damaged in the Oct. 29 incident in Lower Sackville, N.S.Police say the ceiling and toilet were damaged in the incidentCBC News · Posted: Nov 04, 2025 12:36 PM EST | Last Updated: 2 hours agoListen to this articleEstimated 1 minuteRCMP have charged a Halifax man with breaking and entering after he allegedly hid in the bathroom of a business to gain access to the building after hours.Police say they responded to an alarm call at 12:39 a.m. on Oct. 29 at a business in the 700 block of Sackville Drive in Lower Sackville, N.S.When they got there, they found an exterior door unlocked, and inside the business, cash tills were lying on the floor.During their investigation, officers noticed that the ceiling in the washroom had partially collapsed, the toilet seat cover was damaged, and a hat and jacket were left behind.Investigators concluded that someone had hidden in the ceiling of the bathroom and then left the building after the business closed.Nothing was stolen from the business.With the help of surveillance video, police were able to identify a suspect and arrest him.The man has been charged with breaking and entering, mischief not exceeding $5,000 and failure to comply with a release order.MORE TOP STORIES
