(CBC)A 76-year-old man died and a 73-year-old woman was airlifted to hospital after their car crashed head-on with a semi-trailer truck south of Winnipeg on Tuesday.Emergency crews were called just before 9 a.m. Tuesday to the crash on Highway 59, just north of Highway 311.The car was heading south on Highway 59 when it veered into the northbound lane and the path of the semi, police said.The 76-year-old man, who was driving the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 73-year-old woman, his passenger, was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.The driver of the semi, a 47-year-old man, was not injured.More news from CBC Manitoba:
