(Darryl Dyck/The Canadian Press)A man is dead after a police-involved shooting on Saturday in Moncton, according to an RCMP media release.RCMP say in the release that they responded around 2 p.m. “to a report of a man robbing a business on Mountain Road with a firearm.”After fleeing the scene on foot, the man entered a nearby residence and fired shots from inside, the release says.Police say they contained the area while the shots were being fired.The release states the man then set fire to the residence and a parked car, fleeing again on foot.”During the response, a member discharged their firearm at the man, and he was pronounced dead on scene,” police say.New Brunswick RCMP have referred the matter to the Serious Incident Response Team, an independent police watchdog, for further investigation.
