(David Bell/CBC)A man and woman died after they were struck by a vehicle while walking on a highway in northern Manitoba late Friday, police say.RCMP were notified of a vehicle-pedestrian collision on Highway 60, about 20 kilometres east of Highway 10, at 11:50 p.m. on Friday, police said in a news release on Monday.A 29-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman from Chemawawin Cree Nation were pronounced dead at the site of the crash, police say.Investigators determined that a 30-year-old man — also from Chemawawin Cree Nation — was driving east on Highway 60 when he stopped on the side of the highway.Two passengers got out of that vehicle and began to walk east as the vehicle followed behind, police say.Investigators believe a 64-year-old man from The Pas didn’t see the two walking as he drove west on Highway 60, and crashed into them.No other injuries were reported, police say. Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.RCMP continue to investigate the crash alongside a criminal collision investigation team and a forensic collision reconstructionist, according to police.More from CBC Manitoba:
