(Efired/Shutterstock)Manitoba officials are warning about another potential measles exposure site in the Winkler area.Anyone who was at the Outpost Grill in the Co-op cardlock truck stop at the junction of highways 3 and 14 is asked to monitor for symptoms until Nov. 16 and 17, the province said in a bulletin Monday.The exposures happened on Oct. 25 and 26 from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Measles symptoms generally appear seven to 21 days after exposure. There have been more than a dozen exposures reported in the Winkler area since July, including in three schools last month: Emerado Centennial School, Northlands Parkway and Garden Valley Collegiate.There have been 247 confirmed and 16 probable cases reported in the province this year, the last weekly update said. About nine in 10 were in people who had received no doses of the measles vaccine.The Public Health Agency of Canada announced Monday that the country has lost its measles elimination status, after recording more than 5,000 measles cases in nine provinces and one territory since fall 2024.Canada had held that status for 27 years.
