Handmade with Love, which focuses on creating handmade wax melts.Article contentThe P.S. in their business name actually comes from their names, Payton and Sherae, she explains.Article content P.S. Handmade With Love offers a wide variety of wax melts. ContributedArticle contentToday, they have branched off to include handmade soaps and foaming sugar scrubs and now also sell children’s accessories such as necklaces and keychains.Article contentFor Atkinson, the idea of having a makery business is natural. From a young age, she says she has always enjoyed crafting and learning new things.Article content“So, this was right up my alley when Payton decided she would like to try crafting to attend an event,” says Atkinson.Article content P.S. Handmade With Love now carries a wide variety of characters for children’s keychains. ContributedArticle contentLearning curveArticle contentTo learn their craft, Atkinson says, she spent a good amount of time studying the art of the products prior to the first test run. After a bit of trial and error, and trying to find the right suppliers and products, Atkinson can now say she is very happy with the outcome of the quality of products they produce.Article contentArticle contentAnd one of those items, which is one of their most popular ones, are their LaFufus doll keychains. They are currently only stocking these products in Carleton Country Outfitters in Carleton, Yarmouth County, as they are unable to keep them in stock.Article content One of their most popular items are their lafufus doll keychains. ContributedArticle contentArticle contentThe idea for this product came from Payton, says Atkinson. When they were thinking of new characters for their children’s keychains, she mentioned she thought they would be a must-have.Article content“I wasn’t quite sure about that,” says Atkinson, “but boy was she right on that one.”Article contentPlanning for the futureArticle contentAs for deciding what is coming next, Atkinson says she likes to try and plan ahead for upcoming seasons, holidays or trends that may be coming out. For example, they get inspiration from popular movie releases, or hot new characters, like the LaFufu dolls, KPop Demon Hunters and Pokemon.
