(Katelin Belliveau/CBC)A trial is set for February for a Moncton man accused of stabbing an RCMP officer in the head.Edva Mascary was charged with attempted murder and seven other charges after an incident in which Const. Marc-Antoine Latouche was allegedly stabbed in the head and neck three times.Police previously said the alleged crimes happened when they responded to a call about a dispute between roommates at a residence on Fairisle Drive in Moncton late on Aug. 14. Mascary, who is 35, is also accused of assaulting other officers at the scene, of resisting arrest, threatening to kill a civilian and aggravated assault on Latouche.Mascary has appeared over video in Moncton provincial court several times since the charges were laid.Court staff wrote in an email to CBC News that the trial is set to begin Feb. 12 and is scheduled for two days.ABOUT THE AUTHORKatelin Belliveau is a CBC reporter based in Moncton.
