The host said he is thrilled people have embraced the fundraiser.Article content“It’s because of people like them who come to the concerts that we’re able to make a difference in people’s lives,” a thankful Pereira said.Article contentArticle contentPereira has shared the stage with Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, Sting, Michael Bublé, Andrea Bocelli, and David Foster as a founding member of The Canadian Tenors. His family moved to Annapolis County in 2018, and he joined them from Port Cobourg, Ont., in 2021.Article contentArticle contentThe concert supports those in need with things like groceries and gift cards. With the Long Lake wildfire in West Dalhousie in August, Pereira said the need for support is greater this year. The fire came at a time when people were already struggling to get by. Now some are trying to rebuild, adding more financial pressure.Article content“We’re just trying to do what we can to help our community,” Pereira said.Article contentHe said it was wonderful to see the greater Nova Scotia community pull together to support those who lost their homes.Article content“That warms our hearts and lets us know … that there’s still love going around in this world,” Pereira said.
