(David Bell/CBC)A New Brunswick woman has been killed in a collision involving a deer and two vehicles, RCMP said Friday.It happened Thursday on Route 605 in Maple Ridge, about 14 kilometres north of Nackawic, around 7 a.m., Cpl. Braden Stephenson of the Keswick detachment said in a news release.Police believe a southbound vehicle struck the deer, sending the animal flying into a northbound car, driven by a 43-year-old woman from nearby Millville, he said.The woman, who was the lone occupant, died at the scene, Stephenson said.The other driver was uninjured.RCMP posted a traffic advisory on social media around 8:15 a.m. that the road near the scene was closed, and motorists should expect delays.The road was reopened by 1:45 p.m., according to an updated social media post.An RCMP collision reconstructionist went to the scene and is assisting with the investigation, Stephenson said.An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the woman’s exact cause of death, he said.Members of the Nackawic and Keswick RCMP, Millville Fire Department, and Ambulance New Brunswick responded to the scene.
