(Michelle Allan/CBC)Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say human remains found in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory earlier this year have been identified, and no foul play is suspected.The remains were discovered May 17 near Highway 49, between Old Highway 2 and Lower Slash Road, just west of Deseronto.At the time, OPP said it appeared the remains had been there for some time.On Thursday, OPP said the deceased has since been identified as a male from Tyendinaga who would have been 69 at the time of his death in 2019.”The investigation, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Tyendinaga Police, has concluded that there was no foul play involved in the death,” OPP said.The man’s name and other personal details are being withheld out of respect for the deceased and his family, OPP said.
