Batherson and the Frost claimed the title with a 2-1 overtime win over the Ottawa Charge that clinched a 3-1 win in the best-of-five final series.Article contentArticle contentArticle content“I’m so pumped to be back in the State of Hockey and playing in front of the best fans in the league,” Batherson said in a news release. “I’m looking forward to continuing with the Frost organization and working towards another Walter Cup.”Article contentBatherson launched her pro career last season after being selected in the sixth round of the 2024 PWHL draft. She produced three assists in 25 regular season games and posted a plus-13 rating.Article content“Mae integrated easily onto our blueline during her rookie season,” Minnesota general manager Melissa Caruso said in a news release. “She is quick and agile on the ice, yet maintains poise under pressure in the D-zone. She has proven herself to be a valuable member of our team and we look forward to watching her role evolve over the next two seasons.”Article contentBatherson spent two years in the hockey program at King’s-Edgehill School in Windsor before leaving home to pursue NCAA Division 1 opportunities. She played four seasons for Syracuse University, where she finished as an assistant captain and compiled 61 points in 122 games.Article contentShe transferred to St. Lawrence University for her fifth year and set a career high with 37 points in 39 games.
