Both men were rushed by ambulance to Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville for urgent medical care and treatment.Article contentThe operator, a 35-year-old St. Davids man, displayed signs of alcohol impairment. He was arrested at the hospital for impaired operation and was provided with a demand for blood samples.Article contentHe was released from custody and is set to appear in court at a later date to answer to a charge of impaired operation.Article contentThe investigation is continuing to determine if a further charge of operating a conveyance (off-road vehicle) while having a blood alcohol concentration above 80 mg per cent is appropriate.Article contentThe passenger’s injuries were assessed as critical by medical staff, and he has been transported to another health facility for advanced medical care and continued treatment.Article contentThe investigation is ongoing.
