The well-being check was the result of a call from Summerside Police Services regarding the concern that the three young girls were providing sexual favours to an older male in his 20s.Article contentThe girls had been picked up in Summerside by Worth, who was known to them as “Eric,” and taken to Charlottetown. Charlottetown police made contact with the three girls on Parkwood Crescent and learned that one of them had sexual intercourse with Worth on March 2, 2024, inside the Parkwood Crescent residence.Article contentArticle contentCharlottetown police also learned that the homeowner (Worth’s grandmother) had died and the only person living at the residence was Worth. The three girls were taken back home to Summerside.Article contentArticle contentCharlottetown police interviewed the sexual assault victim on March 6, 2024, who also identified Worth in a photo.Article contentThen, on March 24, 2024, Summerside police interviewed one of the other girls and saw messages on her phone related to the sexual assault by Worth against the first girl. The second girl and Worth communicated a few days after the police became involved in the matters.Article contentIn one communication, Worth said it would have been worse if he had answered the door when police were knocking on March 2, 2024, and asked her what she told police. Worth also asked her to meet up sometime with him for sex. Worth continued to contact her about hanging out in his car and admitted to having sex with the first girl.
