A vehicle involved in the incident appears to have crashed into a ditch on this road, striking a telephone pole. The man, believed to be the driver, was pronounced dead at the scene and a 50-year-old Summerside woman was taken to Prince County Hospital with serious injuries.Article contentArticle contentArticle contentDetours were set up in West Prince, closing Route 124 (Wellington Road) and Route 125 (Hamatack Road) to all traffic, while RCMP along with Island EMS and the Wellington fire department attended the scene.Article contentSeveral units in the RCMP are continuing to investigate but said they do not have more information to share at this time. Led by the major crime unit, the investigation also involves Summerside and Kensington police services, CISPEI and the P.E.I.
