Emergency surgeries will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by clinical teams,” reads the release. “Parents-to-be in Prince County are asked to call ahead to the Prince County Hospital before arriving to deliver their babies.” Parents should call PCH’s maternal child-care unit at 902-428-4490 beginning the evening of Nov. 9 until the end of the day Nov. 11 for advice before arriving at the hospital with needs related to pregnancy care. Parents-to-be may need to travel to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown, around 60 kilometres away, the release notes.Those with a medical emergency should call 911 or seek emergency services from their nearest hospital emergency department, including at PCH.Health P.E.I. said Prince County Hospital’s operating room is undergoing upgrades to its heating, ventilation and cooling systems.
