(Google Street View)A 27-year-old man has died after he was struck by a vehicle while walking along a country highway outside Steinbach, Man., in the rural municipality of Ste. Anne early Saturday morning, police said. At 6:15 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a report that a man was walking in traffic along Provincial Road 311, Steinbach RCMP said in a news release. As police were responding, they received an update that the man had been hit by a vehicle, according to the release. An RCMP spokesperson told CBC News the man was hit near Quarry Oaks Road (Road 38E), northeast of Steinbach. A 27-year-old man from the rural municipality of Hanover was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Police said the vehicle’s driver, a 61-year-old man from Steinbach, stayed at the scene. No one else was injured, police said. Steinbach RCMP are still investigating the incident, alongside the criminal collision investigation team and a forensic collision reconstructionist, the release said. More from CBC Manitoba:
