(Dan Taekema/CBC)A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a vehicle Friday night in Kingston, Ont., local police say.Police posted on social media just before 9:30 p.m. that they had closed a stretch of Portsmouth Avenue between Valleyview Avenue and Fairview Road.On Saturday afternoon, a Kingston Police spokesperson told CBC that a pedestrian was taken to hospital following the crash, where they were pronounced dead.The cause of the collision is still under investigation, police said. No other details have been released.
