(Erin Brohman/CBC)A pedestrian was transported to hospital in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Winnipeg’s North End neighbourhood on Saturday afternoon, paramedics said. Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service officials were called to the area of Selkirk Avenue and Salter Street just after 12:40 p.m. on Saturday following reports of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian, the service’s public information office told CBC News on Sunday morning. Paramedics transported the patient to hospital in critical condition on Saturday, the information office said. Winnipeg police told CBC News on Sunday morning that the area has reopened to vehicle traffic. Police confirmed they will release more information about the incident at a later time.
