(DriveBC)A pedestrian was killed in a crash that shut down several lanes of the Lougheed Highway in Pitt Meadows early Wednesday morning. Ridge Meadows RCMP said officers responded around 2:40 a.m. to reports of a serious vehicle incident that involved a pedestrian in the 18900 block of the highway.They said the female pedestrian was deceased when they arrived. Lougheed Highway’s westbound lanes at Harris Road were shut down and DriveBC said they remain closed as of 7 a.m. There is no estimated time of reopening and DriveBC said drivers should expect major delays on alternate routes.Police said they’re investigating the crash and that no further information is available at this time. They’re asking witnesses and anyone with dash cam footage to contact them.
