(Mark Crosby/CBC )One person was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot by police in Eastern Passage, N.S., on Tuesday.The shooting occurred after Mounties were called at 1:48 p.m. to respond to a report of an assault at a Cedar Lane residence, said an RCMP news release.The release said an officer discharged a firearm and “a person sustained life-threatening injuries consistent with a gun shot wound.”No one else was injured. The incident has been referred to the Serious Incident Response Team, Nova Scotia’s police watchdog. Officers are still at the scene investigating, the release said. MORE TOP STORIES
