Photo by FileA man from Ohio, N.S. was released from custody after his arrest netted police large quantities of cocaine, cannabis, illegal cigarettes and cash, plus drug paraphernalia and a machete. The Southwest Nova RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at a home on Hwy. 203 in Ohio this week, and arrested 64-year-old James Edward Reid after confiscating 1.1 kilos of cocaine, 3.3 kilos of cannabis, 60,000 unstamped cigarettes and $50,000. An RCMP release said the arrest was the result of an investigation that included several departments, and that started last year. Reid faces seven drug charges, plus possession of property obtained by crime and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He is to appear in Barrington Provincial Court on June 11.
