(Ben Nelms/CBC)Investigators say a 31-year-old man has been charged in the homicide of Chantelle Moore, who was reported missing in November last year. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) said Friday that investigators arrested Trenton Henneberg of Port Moody, B.C. Henneberg remains in custody, and the B.C. Prosecution Service has approved one count of second-degree murder and one count of indignity to human remains against him. Investigators believe Henneberg and Moore knew each other, and it “was not a random incident.”This case, involving the victim Chantelle Moore, 30, is different than the case related to Chantel Moore, 26, who was shot and killed by police in Edmundston, N.B., in 2020.The 30-year-old’s family reported her missing to Surrey RCMP on Nov. 18, 2024, IHIT said. RCMP determined Moore was last seen at a Langley hotel and she hadn’t been heard from since late October that year. IHIT said it worked with other agencies to establish a timeline of events leading up to Moore’s disappearance. Search warrants were executed at multiple locations across B.C. to locate Moore’s remains, IHIT said.“This is the kind of investigation that keeps us up at night,” Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT said.
