Again, the driver failed to stop for officers and struck three police vehicles in his attempts to flee. Officers pursued the suspect vehicle due to public safety concerns, given the driver’s dangerous and aggressive driving.Article contentThe vehicle came to a stop on Hamlyn Road, where the driver fled on foot and was arrested while attempting to steal a police vehicle. After further investigation, officers believed the driver to be impaired.Article contentAccident Investigation and Forensic Identification Services attended to assist the investigation that is still ongoing. There were no injuries reported.Article contentBrandon King, 37, has been charged with Operating a Conveyance while Impaired, Refusal to Comply with a Demand, Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance, Assault with a Weapon on a Peace Officer, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Resisting a Peace Officer, Flight While Pursed by Police, Failure to Stop at an Accident, Possessing Property Obtained by Crime, Failure to Comply with a Release Order, as well as summary offence tickets for speeding, driving without due care and attention and operating a vehicle without insurance.
