(Lauren Macgowan/Facebook)A Saskatoon-area woman who was charged with first-degree murder in the death of her husband will stand trial on the lesser charge of second-degree murder.Lauren Besse is accused of killing Danny Magowan in the couple’s rural home.Warman RCMP got a call around 7 a.m. CST on Aug. 23, 2024 about an injured man at a home in the rural municipality of Corman Park, which encompasses areas on the outskirts of Saskatoon.Police said they found a 42-year-old man, who was declared dead by paramedics at the scene. The man was identified as Magowan.Besse’s lawyer, Nicholas Stooshinoff, confirmed Wednesday that his client was committed to trial after a four-day preliminary hearing. Evidence from the hearing is covered by a standard publication ban.Besse selected trial by judge and jury at Court of King’s Bench.
