Police then engaged in a search for two individuals said to be armed and dangerous and at-large in the area.In an update on Thursday afternoon, police said one person had been found deceased and another injured. Thursday evening, the OPP said two men were in custody, “after a two-day search for suspects considered armed and dangerous in connection with a homicide investigation. “No further details have been provided, but police said “the situation has stabilized in the community and the threat to public safety is no longer considered active.”The investigation is ongoing, however, and police are urging people in the area to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.College, other schools closedThe search led to a number of school and business closures in the area.Nishnawbe Aski Nation officials held a news conference in Thunder Bay on Thursday afternoon.In a statement, officials said leaders will address urgent issues related to policing, justice and community safety with “the backdrop of the unfolding situation in Ginoogaming First Nation.”The news conference can be streamed online.
