(OPS/Facebook)Ottawa police are now investigating the city’s 17th homicide of the year after a man who was critically injured in a shooting in Centretown earlier this month died.Police and paramedics were called to a building on Somerset Street W. near Bay Street on Oct. 15, where they found the injured man and transported him to hospital in critical condition.Police have now identified the victim as Nelson Getson, 38. He succumbed to his injuries on Friday, they said.Police say there is no further threat to public safety at this time.Police are asking anyone with information to contact the homicide unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5493.
