(Ken Linton/CBC)A vacant home that stood on the waterfront near the the Hillsborough Bridge in Stratford, P.E.I., has been demolished.The province had previously said the property at 9 Horton Dr. was owned by a numbered company that dissolved in October 2023.Officials with the Town of Stratford said RCMP had been monitoring the property after receiving multiple calls about people squatting in the building.After receiving a complaint in March 2024, police discovered four people living inside the home. Officers told them to leave and not return, with town officials citing safety concerns related to the vacant home.RCMP officers went to the building in March 2024 and told four people who were living there without permission to pack up their things and leave.
