The man was subsequently issued a driving suspension, a vehicle impound notice, and faces a court appearance to answer to the charge of failing to comply with a mandatory breath demand.Summerside Police Services says this incident caps off a busy second half of March for impaired driving investigations. Summerside police expect to lay charges in five separate impaired driving investigations over the last two weeks of March.“Impaired driving continues to be a significant concern across P.E.I. and Summerside,” stated the department a news release. “Police services continues to encourage the public to report suspected impaired driving-related incidents through 911 or by contacting their nearest policing agency.“Calls from the public have been instrumental in helping police successfully resolve multiple impaired driving incidents so far in 2025 and thanks the public for their partnership in combating the issue of impaired driving.”Article content
