Julie McCabe, committee chair, suggested now would also be a good time to get council up to speed on what to tell residents if a hurricane comes.Article contentMamye said the details for that are specific to the event, and the EMO team relies on information from its emergency weather preparedness specialist for forecasts and the provincial EMO team’s monitoring system. I know parks and rec managed some of the food (after post-tropical storm Fiona). It was just really chaotic when you were already in a crisis situation. So just having a sense of what that plan looks like and who’s responsible for what would help all of us in the situation.”Article contentArticle contentMamye clarified that there was something like that in the past, but McCabe was absent from some of the meeting along with other councillors.
